Broadcom ~ November 2007

“These are the kinds of unusual challenges that make working at Hemera so exciting and enjoyable.”

Task: To relocate and recreate a laboratory and general office space for a technical giant in the field of telecommunications and design.

Notice given of Task: Two Days

Work to be completed in: One Day

Never a company to shy away from the seemingly impossible, Hemera relished the opportunity to undertake the task set to us by one of our biggest clients, Broadcom.

Relocating and re-installing furniture, personal effects, desktop computers and specialised equipment worth millions of pounds, to ensure the laboratory and office were ready for use the same day was a momentous task - but one that proved no problem for our team.

Working seamlessly, the task was successfully achieved within an incredible ten hours and the laboratory and office were operational and fully functioning by the end of the same day as required.

All in day’s work for Hemera!

Broadcom Reception
How would you design the working environment of one of the world’s most creative and influential multi-billion dollar companies?

It is an answer that our design team at Hemera had to find, when Broadcom, who design hi tech components for mobile phones, video gaming and hand held multimedia players, bought out one of our longest standing clients, Alphamosiac, and asked for a continuation of our services.

The Project Management brief was extensive – a major refurbishment of their new property including all interior design works, as well as a total relocation of their workforce to the new unit.

Incorporating everything from improved space planning through to installing their desk top services, it was a mammoth project on a very tight deadline that required meticulous planning.

The end result was an office environment that was modern, fresh and striking, befitting of Broadcom’s reputation and status, and a successful move completed without any disruption to continuity of operation.

Since completion, we have continued to build our relationship and now undertake Facilities Management in their Cambridge office, as well as tendering work and projects for their Bracknell and Bristol offices too.

This goes to show, small jobs can lead to trust and confidence, and the opportunity to take on that larger project. What better way could there possibility be to do business?
